Using Web 2.0 to Create Classroom 2.0

Our Agenda

 

1.  What is Web 2.0?

 

We'll discuss what Web 2.0 is, giving you a tour of some sites and letting you share some of your favorites.

 

2.  What do we mean by "Classroom 2.0"?

 

How can the best characteristics of Web 2.0 be applied to the classroom?  What should Classroom 2.0 look like?

 

3.  Teaching Digital Citizenship

 

We'll look at a list of factors and define digital citizenship.  Then, we'll collect your thoughts on teaching students to be productive digital citizens.

 

4.  Preparing Teachers to Teach Digital Citizenship

 

Not every teacher is ready to launch into "Classroom 2.0."  Preparing teachers to teach digital citizenship is a critical need in schools.

 

5.  Advocacy Tools for Digital Citizenship

 

Are you ready to create the classroom of tomorrow, but finding that the rest of your school isn't?  We'll discuss how to advocate for a new brand of teaching and anticipate some of the common pitfalls that "future-ready" teachers encounter.
