Information Literacy
Information literacy refers to the skills needed to find, analyze, validate, and use information. It may also include evaluating people and communications online, such as the motives of collaborators.
Key skills
- Understanding the difference between a good place to start and a good place to end up when looking for information. Google and Wikipedia are not the final word!
- Understanding the impact of different methods of presentation -- text vs. images, video, etc. How do people process information differently in different formats, consciously and unconsciously?
- Determining the relevance of information to a given topic.
